Privacy policy

Who we are. Aircon.Guru ("we", "us") is an independent information service about air conditioning. We don't sell or fit air conditioning, and we don't run ads.

The short version. You can use the whole site — including the planner — without an account and without giving us your name or email. The planner runs in your browser; your answers stay on your device unless you choose to save or share your plan.

What we collect

• Using the planner: nothing personal — your answers and your plan are held in your browser, not on our servers.
• If you copy a link to your plan: the plan is encoded into the link itself (in the web address), so it re-opens on any device without us storing it.
• If you contact us or send feedback: we receive what you send (your message, and your email if you include it) so we can reply or act on it.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful, in aggregate. Until you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner it stays switched off — no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected; if you decline, it stays off. Google processes this data on our behalf; see Google's privacy policy.
• Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

Cookies. Essential storage keeps your unit preference (metric or imperial) and your cookie choice on your device. Beyond that, we only set analytics cookies (Google Analytics) if you accept them in the consent banner — you can decline, and you can change your mind at any time by clearing the choice in your browser.

Sharing. We don't sell your data. We only use trusted providers to run the site (such as hosting and, if you've accepted it, Google Analytics), and they process data on our instructions.

How long we keep things. Only as long as needed — for example, feedback emails until we've dealt with them, and analytics in aggregate.

Your rights. If you're in the UK or EU, you can ask to see, correct or delete any personal data we hold, object to how we use it, or complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Email us at hello@aircon.guru.

Children. This site is for adults planning air conditioning and isn't aimed at children.

Changes. We may update this policy; we'll change the date above when we do.
